Chorlton cycleway under construction across the Metrolink bridge. Sadly, only one side of the road will have a track. A newer, wider road bridge should replace this old structure.

The Chorlton Cycleway heading north out of the town centre. The bus stop chicanes are too narrow really, for trikes and cargo cycles, but this is still a very welcome upgrade from the total lack of any provision previously.

Vandalised fence in dangerous condition. And very poor surface quality along this "cycle route". This could easily be widened by removing the grass verge to the right and replacing it with an embankment wall to support the gardens of the … [more]

[Image taken 25.8.22] Deansgate. Manchester. Clear sign – if non-standard - at roadworks just south of the Cathedral. The road is closed to motorists but it is open to people on cycles. Excellent practice: the sign and the situation. Other … [more]

Flagship cycle lane. Notice cyclist on the road to avoid the river. @MadCycleLaneMCR @ManCityCouncil https://t.co/JWtZWvOnX8

Good [private] cycle parking provision at this building, secured behind a big fence so the public can't get to it. If you're working here, cycle parking isn't a problem. The racks aren't good for unusual cycles or if you're not strong … [more]

A terrible cycle lane with conflict baked in at every point.

Short stay cycle parking, Deansgate Square. Using non-standard Sheffield stands.

Cargo bike overhangs carriageway, resulting in buses having to squeeze past. Different space requirements required for non-standard cycles.

Lots of pavement parking particularly at weekends

High-speed traffic mixed with high numbers of cyclists. The carriageway is wide enough to have segregated cycleways.

A bike share dock, right next to a decent protected cycleway in and out of Manchester - but no dropped kerb. This kerb is gigantic. This should be resolved asap.

Whalley Range Manchester . UPDATE NOV 2021 It's bee upgraded to a cargobike hire stand as seen here #175992 also on Brantingham Rd. Seemingly random place for cycle parking. I suppose it prevents pavement car parking here . Maybe it'll be … [more]

Despite my complaint in 2020 Manchester City Council still have not maintained this underpass.

The angle Minshull Street divides off the A6 causes fast turning traffic, dangerous for the many pedestrians crossing the city centre road, and conflict over the bus lane on the left, dangerous for cyclists and making it less useful for … [more]

Bus stop bypass. A nice feature.

Very poor finish on the cycle gutter (which cannot be used anyway)

Bicycles do not fit in the sole lift provided on the north side of this bridge. This bridge likely infringes the Equality Act 2010.

Staircase gutters too close to railings, so you cannot wheel a bicycle up or down.

New cycleway connecting Thorley Lane to A555 and "cycling bridge"

The new bridge across the M56. Marked as bad practice because despite being a "cycling" bridge, you cannot cycle onto or off it.

There isn't even a pavement on this side of the road - this really needs looked at. No space for walking at all!

On-street parking should be removed to either widen the pavement or provide a cycle way. Significant problem here with close passing of cars

Cyclist turning right on Victoria Avenue. Also cycleway all along Vic Ave
